Lucy is a partner in the Professional Indemnity team in BLM.
She acts on behalf of a wide range of professionals, but has particular expertise in dealing with claims against accountants, solicitors, financial advisers and insurance brokers.
She frequently acts on behalf of financial advisers facing claims for mis-selling from large numbers of former clients and has provided training to IFA networks on emerging risks in the financial services sector.
She also deals with claims against emerging professions, including insolvency practitioners, IT professionals, and compliance consultants: she acted on behalf of the third party FSA compliance consultant in (1) Stokors SA (2) Lucien Selce (3) Phoenicia Asset Management (Holding) SAL v IG Markets Limited, Third Party: Craigcrook Management Services Limited; Commercial Court Action 2010 Folio 1331, a claim brought by IG Markets Limited arising out of the collapse of a Scottish-based broker. Following a five-week trial in the commercial court, the claim was successfully defended.
Lucy also regularly advises on policy cover, policy avoidance and fraud, and provides training to insurers on policy issues and interpretation of policy wordings.
