Mark specialises in the regulation of the general insurance sector, including Lloyd's Managing Agents, Lloyd's and London market brokers, MGAs and insurers.
He regularly leads complex regulatory engagements with Grant Thornton’s largest general insurance clients, with a particular focus on the roles and responsibilities in insurer and intermediary relationships.
Mark joined Grant Thornton from the Financial Conduct Authority in 2014, where he led the FCA's General Insurance thematic work. He was a key member of the FCA's General Insurance management team, helping to set the Regulator’s supervisory strategic and tactical agenda for General Insurance.
Before being a regulator, Mark spent many years in the insurance market running delegated authorities in the Lloyd’s and Company markets. Having seen the world from both ‘sides of the fence’ he offers first hand industry and commercial understanding combined with a regulator's insight.
