MGAA supporting WOW London 2016, Insuring Women’s Futures

On Friday 11 March 2016, the Women of the World Festival at the Southbank Centre, will feature ‘Insuring Women’s Futures’, sponsored by AIG and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).

‘Insuring Women’s Futures’ follows a year long collaboration by female thought leaders in the insurance industry via the Insurance Supper Club (ISC). This represents a move by the industry towards a more creative, inclusive and contemporary approach.

Founded in 2011 by Jude Kelly CBE, Artistic Director of the Southbank Centre, WOW has become the leading global festival for gender equality. Alongside a celebration of the achievements of women globally, WOW highlights the risks faced by women in society today, and debates how they can protect themselves from the risks of tomorrow.

The ‘Insuring Women’s Futures’ initiative was conceived following participation in WOW 2015 in recognition of the role the insurance industry plays in women’s risk issues in society: providing risk solutions, harnessing female talent, and more broadly through corporate social responsibility.

WOW London 2016 takes place from 8 to 13 March with WOW Friday focusing on power, politics and women in the workplace. It looks at how ensuring women's futures – in areas including healthcare, entrepreneurship, science and technology, community development, education, business and politics – can lead to a more stable society for all.

It offers the ability to network with women from across the career and job spectrum, and to hear from a range of female business leaders including members of the ISC: Inga Beale (CEO, Lloyd’s of London) discussing her career journey and Romaney O’Malley (General Manger AIG Belgium & Luxembourg) contemplating disruption, together with Julia Friend (Head of Talent AIG EMEA) debating female talent.
