The widening skills gap and the changes to the modern way of working

28/10/2021 | Online - Zoom Conferencing

Innovation Group’s Gary De Groot hosts an interactive roundtable session on what the future of attracting talented people could look like and the pressures we are facing within the industry. Gary is joined by colleagues; Craig O’Driscoll, Rob Angus and Jo Doyle.

During this session we will be looking into the challenges that we face as an industry when it comes to recruiting new talent, and how we will look to achieve this moving forwards. The panel will discuss the everyday issues we face such as an aging workforce, appealing to the “new” graduates of today, and of course the ever-adapting technology – Tech vs Human…

The widening skills gap and changes to ways of working have handed candidates a major “power shift” and a more competitive approach to retaining employees and recruiting new talent is needed now more than ever. The pandemic has caused a number of people to evaluate their career and consequently employees are being selective about roles and responsibilities, and is it up to the industry to step up to these individual requirements.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, delegates will:

  1. Be able to identify where we see most gaps as an industry
  2. Understand what we can do better as an industry to retain and attract talent
  3. Have an insight into what the future of employment could look like
  4. Understand how to establish a culture of learning
