Kaye will demonstrate a real or fake game highlighting digital media manipulation in insurance claims today, and Chris will provide an overview of fraud trends related to evidence handling in the claims sector, drawing from syndicated fraud data. Case studies will be presented from different sectors, followed by a summary of different methods that can be used to detect and prevent evidence-based fraud.

About the Presenters

Kaye Sydenham – Product Manager – Anti Fraud, Verisk

Throughout her career in the insurance industry, Kaye has amassed extensive expertise in Claims and anti-fraud initiatives.

With experience as a claims handler for a prominent insurer, followed by numerous roles at the Motor Insurers’ Bureau and time spent at the Insurance Fraud Bureau, Kaye has consistently demonstrated a dedication to combating fraudulent activities within the sector. Kaye’s passion for anti-fraud measures is evident, as she actively contributes to addressing this critical issue. Excelling in building rapport with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues across all levels, Kaye consistently prioritises delivering successful business outcomes.

Chris Lewis – Head of Solutions, Synectics Solutions

Chris Lewis is an expert in harnessing the power of data intelligence and machine learning for identity verification and financial crime prevention purposes.

As Head of Solutions at data insight specialist Synectics Solutions, Chris and the wider R&D team are responsible for developing data driven solutions to help public and private sector organisations prevent fraud and better understand their customer base. With over eight years’ experience in the field, Chris works primarily with the financial services and insurance sectors, and stresses the importance of close collaboration between businesses, regulators, consumers and Government in the fight against fraud, error and misrepresentation.
