Mental Health: Bridging The Gap

80

25/10/2023 | HDI Offices, 20 Gracechurch St, London EC3V 0BG

The Next Gen Committee welcomes members to join us for the second instalment in our Wellbeing Series.

Mental health affects us all, directly or indirectly, privately or increasingly in more open environments. Talking about mental health is essential and has the power to save lives and improve relationships. Whatever our personal lived experience of mental health, it is important that we are able to have direct, open and non-judgemental conversations about mental health and wellbeing across generations.

There are numerous factors that may influence the ideas and beliefs that we hold about mental health, and may present some barriers to open and supportive communication in the workplace. Perceptions often differ between younger staff, middle managers & leaders, who all have different experiences and challenges at work.

In this session, we are going to define mental health and explore the gap of understanding that exists between generations, along with some ways that we can break down barriers to create an open platform for non-judgemental, open conversations in the workplace.

We welcome all MGAA members to our session:

Date: Wednesday 25th October

Venue: HDI Global SE, 20 Gracechurch Street, London, EC3V 0BG

Time: 09:00AM breakfast and networking, 9:30AM – 10:30AM session

After attending the session delegates will be able to:

  • Define ‘mental health’ and explain some misunderstandings about mental health, and how they can be re-framed.
  • Identify some of the perceptions of younger staff, middle managers & leaders which can form barriers to open and supportive communication in the workplace.
  • Access helpful tools and resources to look after their own mental health, and to signpost others.

This cross-generation session will be the second session of a special four-part Wellbeing Series, which aims to provide networking and holistic growth opportunities for our Members. In this transformative series, we’re diving into the topics that truly matter; mental health, physical well-being, and personal development.

Limited spots are available & spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

If you cannot make the class for any reason, please email nextgen@mgaa.co.uk so that your place can be allocated to somebody else.

Let’s make wellness a lifestyle together!
